Operation Round-Up Provides $20,000 Grant to Florida Hospital

Would you like to help needy families in your community by providing emergency food, shelter, disaster relief, or some other type of need in a time of personal crisis? Would you like to assist in the funding of the many charitable organizations who serve the area in which you live? Well, now you can through Peace River Electric Cooperative Foundation’s “Operation Round Up” program.
Through this strictly voluntary program, participating PRECO member/consumers donate a small amount to the Operation Round Up Foundation with each monthly electric bill. Here’s how it works: each month your electric bill is “rounded up” to the next dollar amount. Over the course of one year, the average personal contribution into the Operation Round Up Foundation Charitable fund would only be approximately six dollars per member. However, these small contributions, when combined with other contributions of many other members, combine to become a much larger amount, which will be dollars that can become the lifeline that your friends and neighbors so desperately need in times of need.
Initially, every PRECO member is signed up in this beneficial program. However, participation is not mandatory for our members, and if you choose not to take part in the program or choose to discontinue your contributions, you may do so at any time. Your enrollment status may be changed at any time by simply contacting your nearest PRECO office.
The Operation Round Up Foundation is governed by the Foundation’s Board of Directors. This Board is made up of nine members, each one living in the districts served by Peace River Electric Cooperative. Each board member serves on a totally voluntary basis, doesn't receive any compensation and attends meetings on their own time. All decisions concerning the Operation Round Up Foundations disbursments is made by the Foundation Board of Directors.
If you are an individual who is in need of assistance, the Operation Round Up Foundation Fund may be able to provide the help you need. If your charitable organization or community service group would be able to better serve others in our local community with support from the Operation Round Up Foundation, we welcome the opportunity to help. If you are interested in receiving assistance, contact PRECO or visit our website at www.preco.coop for an Operation Round Up Foundation applications.
At PRECO we believe that Operation Round Up is “small change that changes lives” and asssist with our mission of improving the lives of our local communities.
